Six Samsung Gear S3 Tips to Help You Get the Most Out of Your Smartwatch

The Samsung Gear S3 is one of the most powerful smartwatches available today and is providing Apple with some much needed competition in the smartwatch space. Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems with smartwatches is learning how to use them. The following Samsung Gear 3 tips will help you navigate your new watch so you can learn to use it faster and get more out it every time you put it on.

Tip 1: Changing Watch Faces

Changing watch faces is very easy. All you do is long press on your current watch face and then swipe left or right to select a different watch face. Some faces will then let you select Stylize to customize the face to your liking. Of course, to download the watch face, you will probably want to use the Gear S3 app installed on your smartphone.

Tip 2: Rebooting Your Gear S3

Remember, even a smartwatch is essentially a small computer, so like all the rest it will probably need a reboot at some point. If your Gear S3 locks up or freezes, all you have to do is hold down the Home button for a few seconds and the watch will reboot.

Tip 3: Changing Double Tap

By default, if you double tap on your screen, Samsung’s S Voice will launch. Unfortunately not everyone wants to use this service. You can change what double tap does by going to Settings > Device. Once there, tap Double press Home key to get a list of alternative options for your double tap.

Tip 4: Organizing and Uninstalling Apps

Apps are where its at with smartwatches, but you need to be able to organize and delete them in order for them to really be useful to you. You can open your apps by pressing the Home button on your watch face. When you press and hold the center on this screen you can open Edit mode. Rotate the bezel to select a different page. You can then tap and hold on an app and move it around. To uninstall an app, you must tap on the red minus symbol that appears next to an app when you are in this mode. Just remember that you can’t delete every app on your smartwatch.

Tip 5: Using Gear S3 with Gloves

Where I live it can get pretty cold. That means I want to wear gloves. Now you may be thinking that I must take off my gloves to use my Gear S3. Wrong! Go to Settings >Device > Touch sensitivity and turn it on. You can then use your watch with gloves on. If warm weather hits, you can turn it on and off by holding down the Home button and scrolling down to Touch sensitivity.

Tip 6: Pairing Bluetooth Headphones

If you want to use your watch to listen to music, then you will need a good pair of Bluetooth headphones to use with the watch. To pair your headphones with your watch, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth >BT headset and it will scan for headphone nearby.

Final Thoughts

There is no doubt that the Samsung Gear S3 is one of the most powerful smartwatches available today. In many ways, it is a high class rival to the Apple Watch. Still, if you want to get the most out of your device, you are going to have to learn to use it. These Samsung Gear S3 tips will help you do just that so you can get the most out of your smartwatch.
